Bocca della Verità

The Bocca della Verità is one of Rome’s most curious and iconic landmarks, located in the Foro Boario area, next to the evocative Temples of Portunus and Hercules Victor. According to tradition, the ancient marble mask “punishes” those who tell lies, making it a popular stop for visitors. It is easily reachable by bus 781 (direction Piazza Venezia), with a stop about 150 meters from the apartment: the journey takes approximately 20 minutes to Piazza della Bocca della Verità.

The Colosseum

There are two easy ways to reach the Colosseum from the apartment.

The first option is to take bus 128 from the stop near the apartment to Basilica San Paolo metro station, then continue on Metro Line B for 4 stops to Colosseum.
Alternatively, you can take the local train from Villa Bonelli and get off after 2 stops at Ostiense Station (Piramide), where you change to Metro Line B and reach the Colosseum after 3 stops.

Trastevere

Trastevere is one of Rome’s most distinctive neighborhoods, known for its medieval streets, lively squares and vibrant evening atmosphere. Often considered the heart of Rome’s nightlife, it is full of restaurants, local bars and wine bars. From Villa Bonelli station, simply take the local train from platform 1: from Villa Bonelli the next stop is Roma Trastevere. Once outside the station, you can walk along Viale Trastevere or take one of the trams heading toward the center of the district.

Fiumicino International Airport

Fiumicino Airport is easily reachable from the apartment with a direct connection and no transfers required. From the nearby Villa Bonelli station, simply take the local train from platform 2 in the direction of Fiumicino Airport: in about 30 minutes and 6 stops, you arrive directly at the airport terminal. The ticket costs approximately €8, making this a convenient and affordable way to reach the airport.

Strategic Location

Villa Bonelli is a station on the FL1 railway line, one of the main arteries of Rome’s public transport network. From here, Trastevere can be reached in just one stop, making it an ideal gateway both for continuing on to St. Peter’s and for enjoying the area’s lively nightlife. In two stops, you reach Piramide, where the connection with Metro Line B allows you to get to the Colosseum in just a few minutes.

One of the main advantages of this location is the direct connection to Fiumicino Airport: in approximately 30 minutes, you arrive at the terminal with no transfers required. The same line also provides quick access to Roma Ostiense, Roma Tiburtina and Roma Termini, offering connections to the metro network and high-speed trains to major Italian cities. With a single ticket, you can move around Rome easily and efficiently, just like a local.
